I was chatting to an acquaintance I haven't seen in ages. She asked if we were still publishing our books and said how much she would like to read them but she didn't have a Kindle.
You don’t need a Kindle to read Kindle books I told her.
I've lost count of the number of times I've told people this and the number of times I've posted a blogpost with the same message.
I blame Downton Abbey.
Each week at every break in the programme there was an advert for Amazon Kindle. I think this must have embedded into some viewers' minds the idea that you have to buy a Kindle in order to read Kindle books.
But you don't.
You can get a free app from Amazon instead.
You need an Amazon account but judging by the number of digiboomers who are doing on-line shopping there shouldn't be a generational issue here.
Go on the bookpage of the book you want to read and get the free App.
Just click the link below the cover image
and follow the instructions.
See the example below. "READ ON ANY DEVICE" shows up on every page.
The App works on all devices such as phones, tablets, laptops, PCs.
If you have an iPad or iPhone you can get the Kindle App from the Apple iStore.
The App works just as well as the Kindle.
I use an early version Kindle and the App on my iPad. The display varies from one device to the other but both are fine.
The Kindle App is FREE.
So if you, or someone you know, wants to read Kindle books but don’t want to purchase a Kindle, get the App.
Thanks for visiting Spurwing Ebooks and hope you've found a book you'd like to read.
